Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker's Notes

Toasted oak and dark fruits introduce our Coastal Estates Cabernet Sauvignon. Straightforward and well-balanced, it expresses blackberry and black cherry in equal parts to the toasty, vanilla-oak spices. For all its “black” character, the fruit remains bright and fresh, joined by subtle toffee-coffee notes. Juicy and long, the palate is structured by ripe, easy tannins. This is an enjoyable, pop-the-cork wine made for everyday occasions.

Winemaking

During harvest, we work with our viticulture team to carefully select grapes with ripe flavors and mature tannins. Once at the winery, the fruit is crushed and placed into stainless-steel tanks for fermentation. Frequent pump-overs maximize contact between the juice and skins, allowing a thorough extraction of aromas and flavors. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine spends nine months on French and American oak to give it gentle spice nuances and structure.

Chardonnay

Winemaker's Notes

Our Coastal Estates Chardonnay shows classic varietal charm, delivering fresh pear and tropical fruit woven together with toasty oak spices. The palate is supple and round, evolving in layers of pineapple, apple and vanilla. Lees stirring and partial malolactic fermentation lend depth and texture to the vibrant flavors, while a splash of Viognier and Riesling adds a floral lift to the fruit flavors. Juicy and long, the wine shows lovely grace and sensibility that make this an everyday favorite.

Winemaking

Our Chardonnay is always crafted with a balanced approach. To capture the varietal’s inherent freshness and vibrant fruit personality, we ferment half of the wine in stainless-steel tanks at cool temperatures. To integrate the spice character and build body, the other half of the blend is fermented and aged on French oak. Partial malolactic fermentation and extended lees aging add further complexity and weight.

The palate is lively and bright, brimming with ripe plum and juicy black cherry flavors. Hints of coffee and toasty oak spices join chewy tannins through the long, satisfying finish. With perfect weight and style for food, this Merlot can be paired with a variety of dishes, making it a great go-to wine.

Winemaking

An incredibly friendly wine, Merlot has an inherently round, juicy character. To capture that, we harvest our fruit at the height of maturity, when flavors are in perfect balance. At the winery, the fruit is cold-soaked for three days to extract nuanced aromas and rich color. During fermentation, we complete regular pump-overs, keeping the skins and juice in constant contact for
maximum extraction of flavors. We age the wine for nine months on French and American oak to add structure and spice. Prior to bottling, we add a splash of Petite Sirah, which contributes to the wine’s depth and dark fruit.

Pinot Noir

Winemaker's Notes

Varietally expressive, elegantly crafted and simply delivered, our Pinot Noir surpasses expectations on all levels. The lovely, garnet-hued color gives way to effusive red fruit aromas. The palate is soft and inviting, layering strawberries, red cherries and ripe plums with warm spices from French oak. A hint of Syrah, with its serious rich fruits and earthy tones, lends depth and complexity. This is a wine to be sipped and savored.

Winemaking

At harvest, we carefully select our grapes, choosing fruit with expressive varietal character. At the winery, we de-stem the grapes and gently place them into stainless-steel tanks for fermentation. This allows us to control temperatures and retain the bright fruit character of the varietal. Following fermentation, we age the wine for six months on French oak to integrate flavors and weave in fragrant notes of vanilla and spice.

Pinot Grigio

Winemaker's Notes

Our Coastal Estates Pinot Grigio is the perfect summer refresher, offering a bright, lively combination of white fruits and gentle spices. Ripe pear and honeydew melon lead the profile, followed by subtle hints of stonefruit, orange blossom and exotic spices. The palate has a smooth viscosity that anchors the vibrant fruit, before extending into a long, crisp finish. A touch of Viognier lends distinctive aromatics as well as depth and texture.

Winemaking

To harness the inherent flavors and maximize varietal expression, we use gentle winemaking techniques. We begin by harvesting the grapes in the cool hours of morning, followed by gentle press. We then ferment the juice at low temperatures in stainless steel for up to a month. This long fermentation preserves the delicate aromas and flavors and encourages complexity and layers. To boost aromatics and lend depth, we blend in small amounts of Viognier and Malvasia Bianca. The result is a bright, clean and inviting Pinot Grigio.

Winemaker's Notes

Luscious and smooth, our Coastal Estates Red Blend combines Zinfandel, Barbera and Petite Sirah into a juicy, fruit-driven wine crafted for easygoing enjoyment. Ripe fruit aromas unfold in layers, complemented by delicate oak notes of vanilla and spice. The palate follows suit, delivering a sweet burst of
sun-ripened blackberries, blueberries and plum over a smooth mid-palate. The finish is soft and round, holding the intensity of fruit for long, lingering enjoyment.

Each varietal in the blend is selected for its unique characteristics that contribute to a smooth, fruit-forward wine. Following harvest, we ferment and age each lot individually, using techniques best suited for each grape varietal. Prior to bottling, we taste the various lots and blend them together, using the plush fruit and rich depth of Zinfandel as the base, adding Barbera for its bright, juicy fruit and Petite Sirah for its structure and complexity.
